That's a $500 set of tires.

Can a 3010 JD rear-end be used behind a 6 cylinder engine in most organizations?

The nonstuctural blocks came in power units and early 8000 series tractors. I'm guessing they probably came in more applications but this is what I've seen. The nonstuctural blocks have the oil cooler on the injection pump side and also have the water pump mounted directly under the injection pump.

What was the purpose of John Deere making two different 7.6 blocks?
Also has anyone ran a nonstuctural block in cast iron chassis pulling application?

I believe they are concerned about the potential for a mechanical governor to fail. The rev limiter would be a failsafe. That being said you can just run a rev limiter if you prefer.

If you're using it for pulling don't waste your time or money with trying to add a disk. Just put a good Crower clutch, steel flywheel, and solid input shaft in it and be done with it.

Thank you Aaron for helping to expand the pulling tire industry. I have nothing but good things to say about the 20.8s I bought from you.

329, 359, and 414 I've always called Dubuque engines. I guess because they came in Dubuque built tractors. SB Deeres are considered 404, 466, 7.6, 8.1, and 9.0 engines.

I think a "gordyville" style pull in east central Iowa would go over well. Something in the Cedar Rapids/Dubuque area. Only problem is I can't think of a building in those areas big enough to host a pull.

A few years ago Spiegalbergs 5 star MM Ratitude had a set of 24.5s on at a pull in either Kentucky or Tennessee. Most of the other LLSs had 30.5s. He seemed like the only one that could actually hook up. The 30.5 tractors sat on top and spun.

No one is going to give you a honest answer. The pullers who invest the money and time to buy and test different products aren't going to give out that info.

Mains are larger on the 9.0L. You could drop it in an 8.1 block without issues.

You'd be better off starting with a different tractor and using a dry clutch. Converting your 4850 would take a completely new clutch housing and transmission housing. Go find a worn out 4320, 4520, or 4620.
