Because it isn't that simple. Boost is not a measure of power, its a measure of the inability to consume the air that is produced.
A boost rule will reward the teams that spent the most on balance and flow in their setups already. It most likely would punish the guys with some older heads and parts that have to have a high boost number to run where they are currently at. Some co

I don't want to put words into Doug's mouth, but from my conversations with him this is the idea.
1. Stop the class from getting to the point that NTPA has gotten for power.
2. By limiting power level to around 3200-3500 hp , keeps current members on the track with less breakage from pushing the limits on current parts
3. creates an environment that the hyper/recast/billet blocks,

think of it this way for easy math.
4" hole has an area of 12.57 sq in
so if 2 top turbos had 4 inch openings...
1 turbo could have 5.66" opening
3 atmospheric turbos could have 3.27" openings
So the tech would carry those 3 slugs for those 3 scenarios if the rule was a 4" opening. .
And then we get to see all the "engineering" behind those 3 types of openings and find out

If you put a restrictor plate rule in I hope all put a top turbo wheel rule in as well.
If its just a restrictor plate rule only then be prepared to see some good explosions from top turbos as guys experiment with new wheels to pull more in.
Turbo builders and wheel builders are licking their chops at this idea.
Not saying it cant work, but head the obvious problem off now.

No one said anything about lasting halfway thru the season. My suggestion was to give a break to let those that need or want to refresh time to regroup if needed. Things happen that none of us can control. Plus pullers would like time to do other family things besides be at a pull every friday and saturday of the summer.
It doesn't mean we are building motors only last half a seaso

The idea was to identify what DSS are even possible to hook in 2017.
Then posed questions on how to get them there. Everyone on that list has hooked an Outlaw hook before (some its been awhile). And they are candidates to do so again.
Things change year to year for a lot of teams. This year we went to Tomah, next year we are not. Some of those ebbs and flows are part of the game

Was talking to some pullers in Kirksville. It seemed 2017 would have this pool of competitors to choose from.
Boeckmann
Messinger x 2
Ulmer
Peterson
Barfnecht (red one be back out)
Vaske/Franke
Cool
VanBeeks
Anderson
Williams x 2
Goodwin
Shreier
Henderson
Hovden
Aments
Demers
My thoughts would be what changes could be implemented to get 8-10 of those competitors to be at e

Add in their own tire guy and ability to experiment with ideas in that department. Add billet block rule and the same team will still be at the top. But it may add reliability for others.

What rpm is this taking place? I assume u do get off the line.
Do your fingers have two places for bolts with weights or are all 8 on one bolt?
On a 4 disk 12.5 clutch I would assume 4 on each bolt would work.

Outlaws didn't name these classes first then add the tractors.
The lss class was always there and guys came along that wanted component chassis. They voted and were not allowed. So those competitors made a class that at first any cube component could pull as long as it was 6200 lbs.
The class then morphed into a traditional 504 class that we are normally used to. This was the ori

Are you sure you don't have a warped floater? Even with the weights full the engagement should be smooth yet as long as you can hold it. If your clutch linkage is using a long arm as leverage is almost just as important for a smooth engagement too.
The weights are really there to keep the clutch engaged if or when the rpms get low on a run. The more weights you can run and hold

Reading the posts below about the teching issues, I had a few thoughts.
No matter the organization you go to, not all techs have time to go through each tractor with a fine tooth comb. There is some trust that has to be and is formed between pullers and tech that you have read the rules and are doing all you can to comply, especially with safety.
Take the IA ST fair. We were allowed late

I am sure it was a heck of a pass.
But very small sample size to make any assumptions.
Keep in mind sf and lim pros have won region dss hooks before.
Sometimes things just line up right and a tractor gets hooked.

Any dealer should let you hook up and pull it down the road if you said you wanted to make sure it pulled straight before you buy.
Guys leave their license and then head down the road for a test run here.

What yr make and model truck?
I had a 2009 F250 that it would do it at certain speeds. Certain new trailers empty it would get lunging. Sometimes just setting cruise at a certain speed it would quit. Not sure if there is one thing that would definitely fix your issue but I do know some people who have used this hitch with success for the same issue.

Should all be good.
Track was graded and packed back earlier in the week. The place is in good shape and can handle the water. Should take todays round just fine and be good to go for Friday and Sat.
The Lions Club will do all that is needed to keep it in good shape.

Boost is just relative though, and not an accurate measurement of flow and cylinder pressure. 220 lbs today with the latest and greatest heads are producing a lot of cylinder pressure compared to the heads of old with 220 lbs of boost.
Today's setups with 240-250 lbs of boost make some mean machines. And if you want to win a GN hook I am sure some have to be flirting around the 300 ma

We have the same type of scenario with help in our area too.
I will pay anyone that is worth it. But so many want high pay, no experience, no tools, and do not live up to what they thought they could do.
Our shop rate is $60/hr. $20 to the tech for easy math. That leaves $40/hr @ 2080 hrs a yr = $83,200. That figure means the tech billed out 100% of his time, had no come backs, a

The example wasn't intended to say all K&K tractors are cookie cutter. My intention was rather to say if I had a choice on all K&K with same hood or K&K with different color hoods even though they were still all BBJD, I would choice the variety.
Choosing K&K was for an actually a compliment because their product is top notch and so well known in the PS class.

The average fan isn't average when they get their wallet out. They make up the majority at a pull and pay the same price to get in and buy concessions. This is the pool of people every promoter is after when they promote an event. They make up the biggest pool of people to help raise the attendance.
The very knowledgeable fan is a great fan, but are a minority in the stands. We ca

I agree with a lot of what you said.
But all K&K big blocks with the same hood is a lot more cookie cutter than taking the same tractors and putting different color hoods on.
Remember the average fans perception is only what they see.
Is it a good route, I have no idea. But there really isn't a line of builders offering a new Massey, NH, MM, or any other true blood off brand.
