Street trucks doing DPF and EGR deletes and signing off road waivers didn't help this situation.
Since not every state has emissions testing, the EPA figured cut the dragons head off all together.
It's a shame what we are being force fed in the name of pollution but India and China (1/3 of the worlds population) can pollute to whatever standards they like.

The pro stock tire size doesn't bother me either way they would still be a good show. Many, me included, hated the look of the cages when they came out and now they look weird without.
But comparing diesel driving to V8 and alky driving is a little bit of a stretch. An unlimited mod may have much more hp but also has some ability to walk into the run. A DSS and Pro Stock guy do not h

Randy, guys have done it. We like to see a ring gap of.040 - .045 on all of them. Unsure if this translates into a single turbo application. But you should shoot for some extra ring gap.
Hypers set up is running a tighter piston to sleeve clearance. I found when we had hypers pistons and sleeves and were wet that the clearance ran anywhere from .012-.015.
Ideally for no issues when

Nothing new in the works. Kids are 5.5, 4 and 1.5. Summer time is going to be at a premium. So getting the ball rolling. If we have it we will hook it but as they get older it would be less time I can devote to pulling. As much as I would hate to see it go, I would hate to see it just sit too.

Too me it takes more skill today to hit the set up right because with the speed being higher you have less time for mistakes.
Reaction time is less today for drivers.
One bounce today kills way more distance because your momentum is much more important.
And I see many tracks where hp isnt the answer to getting the win its getting the perfect pass.

With NTPA everyone has to have blankets and cans certified, no more clutch inspections. And yes the cage for everyone has to be inspected as well.

There is 2 parts to hook fees.
First part - 1% of the purse offered. Everyone pays this to hook, memebers and non.
2nd part - your non member per hook fee that covers your registration and insurance for that hook. Usually 90 or 100 I cant remember exactly right now what NTPA's is. This is your option if you forgo buying a yearly membership with that organization.

Thanks guys I got an update from Iowa Vehicle services and I pasted it here for anyone else running into this.
"When this new law was passed last year there was some confusion on whether the vehicle had to be a truck tractor, truck or could be a motor home. After further review it can be any of those. The way the system is programmed now the vehicle type has to be a truck tractor for the u

Anyone else changed their registration to motorsports RV in Iowa?
We have a toter and is titled as a motorhome. I filled out the paper and went in to renew the registration as motorsports RV and they are requiring me to change the title back to tractor before I get that registration.
Taking the motorhome classification away on the title could effect me in various ways, especially if I wou

Make the rules 504 push rod motors only and you might have a start at actually combining them. Otherwise, in Iowa alone between NTPA and Outlaws have 20-22 Diesel only hooks. The lack of rules on what motors that could be run in an alky is what ran the diesel guys off. I was just talking to a buddy last night about how fun it was back in the day going with the horse and pulling against kort

Loosen up valve guides if head is dry too, open up skirt clearance, maybe coat the skirts, open up your ring gaps. And run high quality oil and bigger pan to hold more since that is your only heat sink.
And if you want to cool it between runs your best option is to put new oil in. You can run blowers and such on it and time helps, but it the oil in your pan is holding a lot of heat and

Make and H piece that holds the 2 cables to an anchor point and the air shut off gate when open.
One cable pulled just the gate moves
The 2nd cable pulled the gate and H piece moves.

It something you will never be able to prove if it was the deciding factor in added distance because you can never repeat the action without outside variables interfering with the results.
But with how the sleds start these days and speed is key, getting locked in early is a must. I would take all the footprint I can get and slow my tire speed down so it locks in and get the best hole sh

Oh ya I am sure there are some 30.5's out there as well over 210.
But I am not gonna loose any sleep over it. Be interested to see how this plays out if some of those Parkes are pushing the limit a little far for the competition's liking.

Explain how to have them measured? You think the seller or owner is just going to give you that info? Could I walk over to your tractor, jack it up and start measuring tires?
I could care less what the hearsay is, but find it interesting you think this info is just out there for the taking.
Every vehicle owner is responsible to know the rules that govern their vehicle for competiti

We plan on running 8 or so outlaw hooks. We know one thing, we won't be running as many times like we did last summer. Just too much away from family events and kid stuff. Just kind of see how the summer goes. Looked at the schedules and there are 20-22 (just going off memory) DSS hooks just in Iowa for NTPA and Outlaw. Rockwell and Rock Valley back on top of each other and I noticed

The difference is when it happens and if you stay in throttle during the situation. Take for instance Shrameks smoke tube came apart both runs. Dq first run but not second. The difference was the first run and flagged and stayed in it for duration. 2nd run happened as spun out. Engine breakage that ends a run not a Dq situation. Spraying fuel excessively indoors has a safety concern fir

These sleds can stop us wherever they want. Nfms is 245. KC is 210. I think the evolution has been to better the show the whole time not because we are making more power. The sled just allows us more speed today before we get stopped at 300. And any fan base you are gaining with tv today knows a whole different pulling than you and I grew up around. Most of them never heard of a pulloff.

If I was promoting the sport, I would be worried about what iron was going to show to sell, and not even mention whether there are floating finishes or full pulls.
Come see the show to find that out.
And I don't think the bone got built the way it did because he thought he only needed to make one pass a night. We just dont live in the times where 35 super stocks show up anymore.

Yes he was red flagged by the 75' flagman for diesel spraying onto the ground. He kept going and made a great pull. The end of track and announcers didnt know. Then the end flag man and 75' guy talked and it looked like they were going to stop the other tractor from getting pulled out and just decided to go with it.
I have no idea what was actually said, this was just my impress
