This is not for pulling, but what is the differance between the 3LM33 and the 3LM299.. This is for a mostly stock tractor, and we need it to attach to the factory intercooler. Still using the factory, small T3 manifold.
Thanks

I posted this on another forum.. linked it to save repeating it.. You can do it either way with the PTO brake.. We usually take them out so they don't work back and start dragging.. This shows how to change the oil flow using the lube relief valve instead of the spool in the valve body. You will need to plug the PTO brake port.. If you are directing the oil flow from the valve body, yo

The 8.1L head will interchange... Lots of P pump 8.1L's out there... the 8000's and 8010's where Electronic Governored, but still a P-pump (except early 8100;s).. lots of OEM full mechanical engines, large 7010's, and others..
I've never seen an A pump 8.1L engine...

Its a EUI.. Electronic Unit Injector... Pump and injector together, running off the cam.. one for each cylinder.
I'd give this place a call... they are the only ones I know that are really doing aftermarket programming..
I agree.. it would be cool ride...

Look for an OEM wiring harness.. Gen Set or pump application.. but you'll still need the control..
It would be cool to see a P pump mounted on it.. might be easiest to mount it at the back of the head where the gear supply pump is mounted.. it would be running off the back of cam, but mostly likely not enough room...
Some might have a mount for an air compressor or a hydraulic pump..

What issues will we see if we run larger injectors will a smaller pump. We are waiting for a 13mm pump and have a 12mm pump with a fairly stock cam, that will flow 5-525cc.. The injectors are 5-22 or 5-25's.. RPM's 4-5000K
Just wanted to make some hooks before we get our bigger pump...
Just looking for some opinions...
Thanks,
Bryan

Thank you very much... I knew many were using the 3lM turbos... I just didn't know if they were a drop in replacement... If it didn't have an intercooler, it would be easier to put any turbo on there...

I know you said no decubing.. but the orginal diesel engine in the 4010 was 380 cid.. 4.125 bore x 4.75 stroke.. Most just got the 4.25 pistons and sleeves taking them to 404.. This would give you the 7 main block.. and would not take much decubing to get you there.. then.. you might like the shorter stroke, for more rpms.. but it wouldn't take much of a stroke change to get you to 370..

I"m curious to what you find.. Usually if you bend the disk.. it will not go into gear.. or if you start it in gear.. it won't stop.. (the disk is dragging on the flywheel)
I hadn't thought about the disk in backwards.. I guess its possible that its dragging on the PTO clutch.. and the PTO brake would be on..(but I would think that it would easly over power the brake.) Try putting

Guys, not exactly a pulling question, but more of an upgrade questions..
Two different tractors..
4840.. The orginal turbo needs to be replaced, and we are rebuilding the engine. This tractor will not be used for tractor pulling just field work.. I know there are more efficient turbos out there... but is there something that will bolt on and fit the factory intercooler? (and exhaust.. or

We used Embeco 885 as a block filler.. I know others have used it in heads too. it comes in a 40 or 50lbs bag.. Much cheaper than hard block.. Its a BASF product.. Just google Embeco 885.. I purchased it online, and had it shipped to my door.. (its been a few yrs ago..)

They still use the screw on filters for oem and C&F.. even on the 9.0L engines.. i'm just not sure if the base for the filter housing is the same.. What is the 466 out of, or is the part number off the base for the 466?
