I agree with everything you've said... but just because something is on the wane doesn't mean it's best for the sport. Reasonable pulling budgets have been on the wane for a while but increased cost for the pullers hasn't been good for the sport. Purses adjusted for inflation are on the wane and that's not good for the sport. The number of state and lo

I went and looked out of sheer curiosity and the absolute oldest thread that has survived on this board is about this very subject. 12 years later, we're STILL talking about it.
The historical significance of 300' and pulloffs was on the wane before then. I would say there is a direct correlation between drag racing track length and measured performance. Pulling was, is,

Before anyone judges the video, you should read all the comments !?!?
I like 300' tracks and pull off's, but after watching, I'm on the fence, but by the looks of the comments below the video,, this could(?) possibly go over well with a % of the fan base.
What if this would start drawing crowds ? Larger crowds mean more money,

Personally, I think it should have never changed from 300'.
I'm an old school fan of the sport, in that I was going to pulls as soon as I got a lic. to drive, (i'm 55 now), and would make as many pulls as I could when I was a kid, if I could get away from the farm..
The issue of track length is sort of like the issue of "rules" for all the many classes we have nowadays, which a

If you’re buying go look at it first do not send money without laying hands on it
If you’re selling don’t sell it without them looking at it first and laying hands on it
This will fix these problems I’ve been on both sides and I’ve hauled equipment for people who have bought sight unseen and been very disappointed
Hook to the trailer and go look at it in person
Best advise, ri

Unless its straight out of the field ( unhooked from the silage chopper ) there is not really a starter class, somewhere, somebody has juiced a pump or put a bigger turbo on or both -- technology has runned starter classes-- as its been said before on here ( BUILD FOR THE CLASS YOU WANT TO RUN ) " to many class now with very little difference in rules" !!!!

Agree, I like to see other colors win too !
It's not really a Case, Ford, Deere, IH or whatever out there on the track to me, anyway. Has no bearing on whether the original model was really that great of an "actual farm tractor".
I like my Deere's, but it gets boring if that's all that won. IH wins a LOT in high performance pulling, but I don't think much of them

It's going to require blood , and the sniping of a LOT of gov. officials.
It's the only way those in the Dem. party.....along with a lot of the Rep. party,....... are going to be ousted.
Waiting for them to die , isn't an option.

The price to give someone the chance to "run it down the track", is going to be a matter of opinion based on what it costs....or "could" cost to do it. I'm not involved in any type of high performance pulling, but I DO realize it takes a great deal of money.....more than the average person can afford......or there would be more people out there doing it.
As much as I like tractor pulling

On the other hand, they might all end up gett'in the virus.......we all know Pelosi and those like her need to go, (one way or the other, and I don't care how),.....how about "them" apples !

I'm assuming everyone has seen the "wild rides , wrecks and fires" videos, right ??? If your talking about putting a "newbee" on "anything" but a bare bones stock tractor that you can still work the back 40 acres with , I think your nuts. Putting someone with little, to absolutely no experience, on a bare bones stock farm tractor, on the other hand, might be more realistic.....and safe

If one has $750,000 , to "play around with", I'd be investing it in the stock market, instead of trying this, but that's just me.....lol.
Not trying to tell someone what to do, and there are never any guarantees IMHO, but that amount of money in the stock market should be making about 10% +/-....that's around $75K And if not touched and if you keep your investments funded, tha

What kind of safety equipment is required for those same classes ?

Jake, I understand, and agree 110% with what you said. I've been to BG twice, and you see everything there, regardless of whether or not you like every type of vehicle.

I couldn't tell by the video, but I assume the engine shut down after it seperrated from the rest of the tractor.
Better than what happened at a stock pull years ago, maybe back in the '80's, at a Wayne Co. pull in Ohio, where the tractor, (1066 I think), started bouncing (narrow front end), and it snapped off at the bell housing .
Engine fell sideways and kept running, wide open

I think there are several flaws in having stock tractor's pull after/during/before a sanctioned event. Most shows are already to long to start with and I'm not sure what the interest level would be. I know that there are people who post on this page that believe stock pulling will help bring more fans and help build up a new fan base. I just don't happen to be one

There is like a computer module setup that you can make any tach work on a diesel. I bought one for a 3000 Rpm farm stock and works well. Any performance race store should have it. You can strap it to your alternator and it feeds to a computer chip and it turns it so it will read for a diesel! So any tach you like you can buy . Then buy this conversion kit for it. Then you have a
