Do other motorsports like drag racing or other competition motorsports with turbos require anything like this? Just curious. If no, why does tractor pulling.....you can't safe guard everything. I was driving down the road once and saw a guy's tire on his truck come off and almost hit another car. Things happen

I built a 360 with 6068 crank and small bore.
I also think with the right parts the 2940 rear would be fine if done right. Stick a pro fab in front of rearend possibly.

With all the talk about components what is the best route to build one? What planetary does one use? Where do you get them? Fabricated or stock housing? What's a guy use for ring/pinion.
What ratios are there?

You are not going to prevent every incident. Things break its motorsports. Things blow up and break. Except the worst and compensate. Distance from the track would be my concern. Don't expect high hp to not go bad and be sitting close to it.

I agree. The biggest problem with pulling is its too expensive to get into and it's gotten to the point only big money can even build a tractor. 12k cylinder head, 18k just for a set of tires/wheels the list goes on. The rules ultimately are the demise of pulling in my opinion. Cubic inch rules are too big. When you can't use a oem block, crank, head to start your pulling tracto

They let these and other classes get to big only elite ppl with big money can afford them. Ask any puller who quit pulling why they did so most will say too expensive to keep going, too many rule changes none to improve long-term less breakage. Just my opinion

I'm building one for pulling. Can get you custom sleeves, ROSS pistons, deck plates, girdles, custom front or rear engine plates. Some did come with inline pumps and you can get other injectors than the pencil ones to work with some work to head. With a 5" stroke stock and decent flowing head these little engines have lots of potential imo.

Lots of potential especially in lighter classes like the LLSS. 5" stroke cross flow head.
Will need a 4030 or 4050 clutch housing adapter or I have aluminum ones. Also have other parts available, girdles, deck plates will have front covers with p pump mount.

Thing I ran into is nobody makes parts for them. Roller rockers, girdles, etc.
There is anything you want for a 400 series.
I've been in the process of making performance parts available for a 300 series plus I'm building one myself and helping out another so will see how it goes. I wouldn't say it's more difficult than any other brand just takes time and money.
