Value of the motor in $$$ divided by 5 yr life = $X,XXX .xx
You should get a check for 1/5 th of the motor value + shipping both ways minimum or pay Phil for all the money you saved by not pulling. LOL

I have seen comments in the past about high speed finals and thought others might like to know. We have a 6030 with high speed finals and has a "7-5/8" gear in the 5th spot. This is what was requested 15 yrs ago to Urmston gear.
The engine is out so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to stop the guessing on our final ratio. We jacked the tractor up, put an old clutch plate on the input shaf

I have a 6030 with a 7 5/8 gear with high speed finals, motor is out.
To double check the ratio can I jack the tractor up, select a gear, then turn the input shaft the amount of turns to one revolution of the rear tire to determine the final ratio?
First attempt by others came up with an incorrect number because each rear wheel was not turning together. My question is should we only raise on

If we like the way a Component chassis flexes why do so many make the front axle on an AG chassis solid with no pivot like original. Wouldn't that under the right conditions cause a slight lift to the affected rear tire should the front wheel travel over a hump in the track? Just wondering?

What actually causes the camshaft to break on a Big block Deere ? Cam oil pump not being used. Have broke 2 steel nosed REI's this past season.
Is it the gears climbing on each other from the torque of the inj pump being maxed out ?
Thanks for any insight

I used a JOHN DEERE 318 garden tractor steering valve or any 300 or 400 series JD. Also a forklift steering unit works great and cheap.

7 th gear is 25.7-1, 8th is 15.7-1 from what I know. Stock 8th is 23.3-1 so if you can turn the input shaft 15.7 turns the axle should turn 1 for fast finals. 23.1 turns for stock 8th gear.

Is it running ? Put it in 7th it will go 16-18 mph little slower than stock 8th,
8th will go over 30 at 2000 rpm
cant be sure by housings as you swap your gears with those in your housings
