Miles; As always I enjoy your care and precise analysis of pulling, and once again I have to agree that some of the selections does make me wonder. Having said that I am not privy to everyone that applied to the NFMS. And I’m not sure that I agree with the one driver -one vehicle rule, all’s that really does is deny the fans a chance to watch the best of the best in every class. The diesel and alcohol will run together in one class, with the diesels weighing 7000lbs and the alcohol weighing 6500lbs. We will run the class on the Saturday night with a purse of $5500. Should be real interesting mixing the two fuel types on Klint's power track. Klint and I are putting together a class of DSS and LSS. With the diesel weighing 7000 and the alcohol 6500. As of right now we have about 12 alcohol and 4 diesel that have committed to the class. We have 2 more diesel guys that may be also coming. If a few other pullers get parts in time there will be about 4 additional alcohol there. After doing my last Opinion Article I was amazed at the number of NTPA events that would run a floating finish at one of the sessions at any two day event and then run a pulloff in the other session. It was time for the NTPA to go with a more uniform set of rules and I think that these new rules will certainly help. I think that one area of great weakness in all of tractor pulling and in this case the NTPA specifically is consistent, fair rule enforcement. While I believe that the NTPA has done the best job of writing a strong set of rules they fall short when it comes to enforcing the rules. My Opinion - bumping the sled for points - 14 years ago
After watching the Unl. Mod class at Bowling Green I started to wonder why a puller has to hook to the sled to get credit for the pull if their vehicle is broke. My issue is that in the Unl.
