Re: 2010 Strawberry Fields Dan Boldt Memorial PullThumbs UpGreat ShowSmiling - 15 years ago

The Dan Boldt Memorial was a great show, the ESP crew ran 5 classes in just 4 1/2 hours. Nice numbers in each class, good crowd and the weather held out for a nice night of ESP pulling. The show ran smooth and ended with a pulloff in the mod class to finish out the night. Beth and her mother Barb do a real nice job honoring the name of Beths father and Barbs husband Dan. And as usual the BBQ is t

Strawberry Fields is one of the ESP pulls that Jake and I always look forward to. All the ESP classes and nice hillside seating with a real good view of the action. Also the chicken BBQ is one of the best around. Jake always lets me buy him a BBQ for fathers day.

Re: the PPL kool-aid (and results) - 15 years ago

Nice win by Jeff Hirt. Looks like the RUNNIN BARE ALL AMERICAN is running right where it did in the NFMS. Another good class of TWD's and a real nice finish for Stan S. on his Shel-Shocked, could be a real force in the Mod class.

SmilingThumbs Up My Opinion---The "Full Pull" and the other pulling magazines. - 15 years ago

I always look forward to getting my three pulling magazines. I just got done reading the “Full Pull” magazine. I really enjoy reading Joe’s editorials and articles. Joe has a unique way of writing that makes his magazine much different than the other magazines that I get. While I really enjoy both the “Puller” with their coverage of the NTPA and the “Hook” which has broadened their pulling covera

Eye Rolling Maybe the classes should be bid on! - 15 years ago

The truth is that some of the NTPA classes are in more demand than some others, shouldn't there be a premium on those classes? What would happen if each promoter that wanted certain classes at their events had to send a bid to the NTPA for the classes that they wanted to pull at their event? Then the promoters with the top 12-15 bids submitted would get their classes, the pullers would ge

ConfusedMy Opinion--NTPA's Pre-Commitment process thread and The LLSS threadSpinning - 15 years ago

After reading some of the comments on the LLSS NTPA thread I started to think about the opinion that I wrote 19 days ago about the NTPA’s pre-committed list and the method the NTPA used to fill their respective classes. After some phone calls and some emails on my opinion article, I got a couple different idea’s about the approach the NTPA uses to fill their national classes. One of the first cal

Re: Eye RollingMy Opinion---the NTPA's Pre-Commitment process--not workingThumbs Down - 15 years ago

I still believe that the NTPA's system is not getting good results, having 5 PS’s or 7 LSS’s per committing is not working now; there are 10 to 14 LSS that would make most of the hooks [90%] if they could drop 2 hooks if needed. And the facts are that these are not the only two classes that have not reached the 10 truck/tractor limit. Now the promoters have 5 pre committed Pro Stocks and

Eye RollingMy Opinion---the NTPA's Pre-Commitment process--not workingThumbs Down - 15 years ago

I believe that it’s time for the NTPA to take a hard look at their Pre-Commitment process. With several classes not at the 10-tractor limit it doesn’t seem to be working for the NTPA, the pullers, the promoters or the fans. I believe it’s time to go to a process that allows the pullers to make 90% of all hooks in their class and still to be allowed to participate in the point’s race in their resp

Re: ESP A-SS get 500# ? - 15 years ago

I believe that you’ll find that most state level organizations that pull the 504 alcohol LSS in the Heavy SS class pull them at even weight. I talked to a MidSouth DSS puller and he was very pleased with the weight that they all hook at in the heavy class. And Mid South has some of the strongest state alcohol LSS in the country. I know that Esdon L. has won a couple NTPA GN events against the bes
