National Pulling and the numbers of pullers involved - 14 years ago
Pulling isn't a cheap hobby! I noticed that after I wrote my latest opinion article on some rule changes, the overwhelming response placed money at the top of the list of problems that hinder the growth of the sport. However I believe pulling is really two separate entities. case8888; Thanks, that may have been one of the best respones-posts I've had the good fortune to read in a long time. I couldn't agree more. I love the idea of 4 co-sanctioned "super bow"l type events, however to accomplished this leadership egos need to be put away and the pullers and fans need to be put first. Kevin thanks for response. My thinking is the drop hook will insure more pullers to complete the entire circuit. I also understand you point that you do not want to reward a puller that that just messes up and give him-her a free pass. And with only one "drop' available to a puller the bigger the screw up the one drop will not help that person. It is really meant to keep the pullers in tby Dick Morgan - Pulling Forum

With the continual rise of the LLSS class I have to wonder what the future holds for this exciting and colorful class. Now that Mid-South {a NTPA member organization} has sanctioned the class will this lead to more state members clubs, both NTPA and PPL offering this class in their clubs? The Light Limited Super Stock Class: there's not a more colorful class in all of pulling! Miles, thanks for the results. looks like the Super Stock class was missing the all Roberts tractors. Miles, I have watched Larry raise funds for the Make A Wish kids at Bowling Green every year and you just feel the passion that the man has for this wonderful cause. It feels like each and every one of those kids is Larry’s kid. Not only Larry, but also the entire Koester family is what make this sport so great. Miles; Thanks , two great pulling teams both bring out mods is really exciting. Absolutely beautiful vehicles. The PPL mod class was already a dogfight and with the Long Motorsports jumping into the class with their vast knowledge they will be a force in the class. Just received my spring issue of the Full Pull magazine. This is the first issue after Charlie and Jen Schultz took over the magazine from Photo Joe and Carol. Enjoyed reading all the articles in the latest Puller magazine, and I really was impressed with the Bryan Lively article on Full Pull Motorsports operation. Bob Barbee has has a great products that seems to cover almost every class in the sport. Bob is a pleasure to talk with, always has a interesting view on all the classes in pulling. Here are my suggestions for the NFMS; Add the FWD, Light PS and 4.1 Limited PS class to Saturday afternoon session with 15 invitees in each session. Move the Diesel FWD class to one of the evening sessions. Use the built-in rivalry that already exists with in tractor pulling.
