Re: Keystone Drivers Update - 15 years ago

JR just looked at the list of drivers, you’re going to have to split the PS/SS class. You have some great tractors in that class. The LSS class is adding names as well. I can truthfully say that the shows that Jake and I have been to are top notch. I don't think there's a better indoor facility anywhere. One thing I like about this show is the mixture of vehicles and classes that are in

Re: Butch Kreiger - 15 years ago

I think that in Butch and Dave’s defense people are being too critical. There is no better overall tractor-pulling announcer than Butch. Butch is the benchmark that other announcers strive for. No one does a better job than Butch of announcing ALL the parts and pieces that put a good show together. Having said that I do believe that like so many of us there are “fans” of the sport and then th

Re: super stock puller John D Thompson - 15 years ago

Jake and I want to offer our condolences to the Thompson family. John was truly a legend in the sport and was one of the pullers that did indeed make the sport what it is today. May the Thompson family find PEACE.

Re: Miles Beyond 300 Blog - 15 years ago

Miles; I once again enjoyed reading your blog. I agree that the farm show had it’s share of interesting and exciting stories, from Brandon Hunts great win with his new SS and the Tatrum Tractors strong showing in the PS class, and Don Masterson’s 2 great passes in the PS class to take a well deserved 2nd place. However I agree that the tribute to Lisa Tatum Hardin and her husband Patrick wa

Re: Picture of hunts new tractor - 15 years ago

A real nice tractor with a real strong run right out of the box. It will a interesting year if the Hunt Motorsports follows the NTPA GN this year. It will be more interesting if the new "Liv"n A Dream" makes the LSS class. The Hunts are a credit to the sport. Great tractors and true dedication to the sport.

Re: Gordyville thoughts-- My apology to the track crew!Thumbs Up - 15 years ago

I do owe a HUGE apology to the Gordyville track crew. All during the show Jake and I kept talking about what a great job they did keeping the track smooth and tractors hooked and unhooked in a fast and efficient rate, and yes even the roller guy!

Re:My view - 15 years ago

The runaway wheel in the LSS class was potentially one of the most serious situations that I’ve seen at any tractor pull that I’ve ever attended. But for the Grace of God no one was hurt. There are many variables that made this a non-injury incident. If the tractor had been even 50 feet farther down the track there would not have been time to react, if the wheel had come off the other side of the

Re: Gordyville thoughts - 15 years ago

Having just had an opportunity to unwind from the trip home I had a chance to reflect on the 2011 Gordyville event. I thought that this years Gordyville show was one of the best shows that they have put on. Klint and Company have perfected the art of indoor pulling. On the ride on I was looking thru my photos and noticed that the time between hooks averaged about 4 minutes. Not bad when you cons

Thumbs UpRe: Merry Christmas - 15 years ago

Jake and I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. This is a great time to remember the true reason for the season, the birth of the Son of GOD. Please remember those men and women that can’t be home with their loved ones at this joyous time of year. Those brave men and women that are protecting our freedom, GOD bless them and protect them.

Hot My Opinion--It's all about time---Solution #3Hot! - 15 years ago

If the pullers decide to keep the same events and pulling map, the next option is to take the schedule out of the promoter’s hands and have a have a “master scheduler” that can schedule pulls in a more logical manner. As it is now a promoter wants a class and the sanctioning body just plugs that class into those dates. The promoters only know or care about their pull and their needs, understandab

Re: Free Sweatshirts Now Until Jan 1! - 15 years ago

As Patty stated the feedback page is the proper place to post this type of information. Excel Shirts is using the page to tell pullers and fans that new items and specials are being offered. It also gives readers a way to ask questions to the vendors. I agree that the feedback page is not usually used for selling items, however in the case of items that are custom items such as shirts, hats e

Re:BouncingMy Opinion--It's all about time!--Solution #2Bouncing - 15 years ago

As I have started before another option that would benefit the pullers is a schedule that not only limited every class to no more than 18 national hooks but also would allow the pullers to drop 2 hooks from their points total. It first this seems unfair to the pull/pullers that have made every hook in their pursuit of a championship. However I believe that if you take a look at the process it

Re: Thumbs UpMy Opinion--It's all about time!--Solution #1Thumbs Up - 15 years ago

JR; I would define National Level organization as either PPL or NTPA. I used the NTPA as my model here, however either PPL or NTPA could be used. I think that you have to have a strong state level organizations to have 2 regions. PPL certainly has that with Ohio, East Coast, ESP, etc. As does the NTPA with their member states.

Re: Thumbs UpMy Opinion--It's all about time!--Solution #1Thumbs Up - 15 years ago

Patches; Sorry about the confusion. NO I would not want BG to be a lnvitational event, It is truly one of the greatest events if not the greatest event in pulling. I would still have it an open event, rather I would have Bowling Green be the site to crown the national champion. Largest crowd, largest pull, what better place to have your championship determined. I want to also say that obviou

Thumbs UpMy Opinion--It's all about time!--Solution #1Thumbs Up - 15 years ago

The idea that I’ve heard from several pullers is to breakup the pulling map into a “north” region and a “south” region with the dividing line being the northern part of Ohio. The idea is to have a point’s race in each region with 4 or 5 national events in places such as Tomah, Chapel Hill, and Jefferson City, etc. The pullers would garner points in their respective regions with the “national” eve

Confused My Opinion--It's all about time! - 15 years ago

I used to think that the biggest problem in the sport of pulling was money. Money being poured in, and not much is sent back into the pullers pockets. After talking to some pullers, they all said their biggest problem in pulling wasn’t money, it was time. While the cost is always an important factor it all comes down to time being the biggest issue. The pullers I spoke with are at the top of the

American Rancher on RFDTV "Lucas Ranch" - 15 years ago

Had a chance to watch the American Rancher on RFDTV last night. The show was about the Lucas Ranch in MO. Forrest and his wife are raising pure bred cattle with the purpose of crossing different breeds for a more profitable animal for the rancher. Forrest talked about the birth and growth of Lucas Oil and the different avenues that it has taken him down. The naming rights to the stadium in Ind

Re: Who's got the money?? - 15 years ago

I guess I'm a little lost on this part of your post. "How many pullers are going to pool their resources together and maybe lose their chances to compete fairly in their sport???" Are you saying that if you spend your money on Legal Counsel then you won’t have money left over for your pulling program. Or are you saying that if you hire an Attorney then you will some how be “Black Balled” fro

This is more than just about pulling! - 15 years ago

So it really doesn't metter how the Outlaws became an LLC? Just as long as everyone has a place to pull his or her trucks and tractors. It really doesn't matter if the process was legal, ethical, moral? Lets just go pulling! I’m not passing judgment on how the transfer of the Outlaws from a member runs organization to a LLC took place, that needs to be decided by the club members a
