Re: ORVTPA needs uniform rules - 15 years ago
The problem with the overall growth of the sport in general and this class in particular is the lack of uniform rules. I would never be too concerned of an over abundance of tractors in any class, especially one that has the potential to grow to a national level. The list of reasons to have uniform rules; 1; the ability to go to any LLSS class hook in the country and know that you are pullby Dick Morgan - Pulling Forum
My opinion---two sessions of Lt. SS at the NFMS - 15 years ago
After the excitement that the return of the Lt.SS’s to the NFMS event generated, I would like to see the class have two sessions. While I understand that the committee is restricted by time constants in the Saturday evening finals, I believe that adding a class of six Lt Supers to the finals would not only be a crowd favorite but would also entice more pullers to apply. Re: Green Streaks For Sale - 15 years ago
Greg; The Boyd pulling team is a true credit to the sport. You have set the bar at a level in the class that has driven everyone to be on top of their game hook after hook. While the news that you are stepping back from the sport is unpleasant, it is good to hear that you are not stepping away from the sport. I admire you for the priorities that your family has in regards to business and family.by Dick Morgan - Pulling Forum

My opinion--The other view of the NTPA
I know that some people view my posts on the pulloff.com page as always being negative concerning the NTPA. So in “fair and balanced” reporting I feel that it would be proper to throw light on the strengths and contributions that the NTPA has made to the sport of truck and tractor pulling. In no particular order I will attempt to list the area’s that the NTPA has impacted the sport in a positiveby Dick Morgan - Pulling Forum
My opinion---NTPA rule writing process - 15 years ago
I always find the NTPA’s rules writing process very interesting. The part that usually fascinates me is how can you take such a simple process of writing rules and come up with this hodge-podge mass of confusion. Take the SF/LPS/LimPS/PF head rules. Here is what is in the NTPA rulebook; (pg. 55) Light Pro: Engine head must be OEM agricultural-type for that brand engine (No billet) (pg. 55)by Dick Morgan - Pulling Forum
Why did the "Entertainer 2" break away from the sled? - 15 years ago
The question that comes to my mind is why did the “Entertainer 2” come unhooked from the sled? There should never be a situation when the pulling vehicle breaks away from the sled. I realize that there is safety fuel/air shutoffs, however the vehicle should always stay hooked to the sled. Thank God that this happened with plenty of area to shutdown the “Entertainer 2” and hopefully no one was hurby Dick Morgan - Pulling Forum

All distances past 300 feet will be measured. Only the top three distances will participate in the pull off. All vehicles will be red flagged if they exceed 320 feet. If three or more competitors exceed 320 feet, only competitors past 320 feet will come back in the pull off I'm confused!by Dick Morgan - Pulling Forum

My Opinion----Open Super Stock class at Essex Junction - 15 years ago
The Open Super Stock class at Essex Junction this past weekend speaks volumes on some of the major problems with the sport of national truck and tractor pulling. For those that have not looked at the results from the NTPA event there were 2 tractors in the show, not 2 in the pulloff, rather 2 teams that made the drive to Vermont. While these two teams should be congratulated for their dedicatby Dick Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: Connersville super farm - 15 years ago
I cannot comment on the incident at Connersville, however I can comment on both the Boyd and Slama teams. I think it highly unfair to chastise either the Boyd’s or the Slama’s for the running of a PPL event. I’ve had lengthy conversations with both teams and I can say without reservations that both Jake and myself have nothing but the highest degree of respect for both teams. Re: another SS puller passes away - 15 years ago
Sad to hear the news of Marc’s passing, Marc was one of those guys that I always tried to find at a pull and chat with. No matter what the situation was Marc always had time to stop a visit for a couple minutes. His dedication to the sport and his family were first class. The sport lost one of the “good guys’. My opinion---the ”dominance rule” - 15 years ago
I have been hearing recently of some plans at the state/club level about using their ”dominance rule” in a couple classes where there has been one vehicle that wins a vast majority of hooks. After thinking about this rule it seems very unfair. It is unfair for two good reasons; First it seems that the ”dominance rule” run counter to most peoples way of thinking.
