Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 10:21AM
That just proves it that jd people don't play by the rules if they do win!!!

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 01:31PM
I love John Deeres and that is what we farm with, but it is very hard to beat the red tractors in a 3000 rpm class. And if you are on a budget then red is definately the way to go. For a JD you are looking a anywhere from $12k-$25k. You can realisticly build a red one for less then $10k. Just my $0.02! However if JD is what you like and you can afford it then go for it!

if u think u can build a competitive IH 3000 rpm tractor for under 10k go ahead and plan on goin home very unhappy after every pull!

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 10:44PM
In response to 3000rpm deere puller, you should get your facts straight before you shoot of at the mouth. I have built 3 for customers, all under $10k, and all very competitive. One regularly finishes in the top three almost every weekend and all 3 have several 1st place finishes even against $30k+ John Deeres. Granted, you won't have all brand new hypermax parts, but If you look around for good used parts and do some work yourself it is no problem AT ALL. Hell, I have a friend with a top notch pro farm that will turn 5k rpms no prob. that can be bought for $15k. You see, one thing you seem to be forgetting is that IH has big lifter, roller cam engines that will turn 3000 rpms with very few mods that can be had for cheap. If you don't believe it, I will give you a rundown of prices of parts for one. Base 966/1066/1086 with no motor $3500, truck motor $1500, wheels/20.8 single cuts $600, pump/lines/injectors $1500, Gears $600, cam/headwork/springs/etc $900, metal for cage, tip bars, weight racks $600, turbo $500, non hot farm 2 disk clutch $1200. There you go genius, a VERY competitive 3000rpm IH for right at $11k. And I even overestimated the prices as everything I have listed here can likely be found cheaper with a little searching. If you can't, let me know and I'll find it for you. Hell there is a guy on here with a whole tractor that just needs put together and a good pump, turbo, and clutch and he wants $4500. If you can't find a decent pump, turbo, and clutch for a 3k tractor for $5500 something is wrong! Like I said, it might not look the best, and it might not have brand new parts, but don't tell me it can't be done because I have done it more then once. When I made the first post I new somebody with either way to much money or absolutely no fabrication skills would say you can't do that.

Hell, for that matter there is a 666 LLSS on here for $20k that has an alky motor, binder lite metal, and aluminum wheels! If youcan buy that for $20,000 I know sooner or later you can find a nice 3000rpm tractor for $10,000.

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 11:41PM
Christ my Charger is smaller than all those big 3lm chargers, only 2.75 in and 3 out nothing for you guys to belly ache about!!!!

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 15, 2009 01:07AM
I told that was delander !

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 01:47PM
I don't think it would surprise anyone that you can beat a 3LM tractor with a bigger turbo. I do not mean to attack you, but I get real annoyed when I go to a pull with a 3LM rule, and they don't look at any turbo's on any tractor. I'm pretty new to this deal, and don't know much, but I was at a pull last weekend where the "over 8 mph" farm stockers at 12,500 lbs were sitting on the line loading the turbo and building boost, and pulling in road gear, and some would snuff the turbo at the end. Again, I know very little, but I can't see a 3LM acting like that and making that kind of power. I wouldn't be a bit offended if someone would correct my ignorance on this, so please feel free.

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 02:03PM
that 4440 guy must be delander from wisconsin his turbo is too big for a super farm and he still thinks he can pull in FARMSTOCK

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 05:38PM
No I am sure its not delander. He has probably over a 100,000 in that farmstock.

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 05:53PM
I have no idea who this Delander is, just what everyone on here belly aches about. But are you serious, come on, $100k in a farmstock. It always amazes me how everyone seems to know what everyone else has and how much they paid for it. With what the two I work on have invested they could have a couple prostocks from what I hear!! Just because somebody does good doesn't mean they have the most invested. There is a good running a-pumped JD around here and he has less invested than some guys repair bills!!

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 03:18PM
we have the 3lm turbo rule...have been getting 55-60 PSI of boost, use 3 1/2 gear...some are running road gear. thats about the limit on this turbo, thrust bearing dont last long

Re: 3000 RPM tractor August 14, 2009 04:13PM
