mf 1150, 1155 or 2805? November 27, 2010 03:24AM
im planning on building a superfarm tractor but would like some input on what tractor is the best choice. max cubes can be 640. its a 9300 and 10 000 lb classes. what is best? the 1150 510ci. the 1155, 540 ci. or the 2805, 640 ci. what rear ends are the best and which are the best platforms to build on. i want to do this like most, cost effectively. thanks!

As much as i would love to see a massey pull in superfarm. I would have already been pulling a massey. But dont waste your time and money building a superfarm massey. With that little 3" charger a massey can't breath with it . Go to the light or limited pro stock.

Dont go superfarm--the v8 needs air & the stroke is too short! in a class as competitive as super farm it takes every little detail to be on top and the v8 has handicaps too big to overcome. Go with the new light pro 540 class or the 640 4.1 limited pro. it will be cheaper and way more fun(not cheap--cheaper). The 1150 or 1155 is a better chassis to pull with than a 2805. You can throw junk together and pull but if you start from scratch and use decent parts you will soon find you could buy Robbie Crutchfields brutal force alcohol super for what you will have in your tractor!!

What about the 6cyl SISHU motor

Unfortunately that SISU engine is only 451 cubic inches...

I normally don't post on here about stuff like this but the facts are this: the V8 doesnt produce enough torque to compete well in Super Farm. Pro Stock is another story from what Carlton Cope is doing with the Warpath tractor. The Batliner's SuperHick is a stout machine with that Sisu on board, and it makes this ol boy that grew up in the seat of various Masseys (as well as Ford and WFE) grin a little more every time I see it run. Good luck in whichever direction you choose to put a Massey on the track.

you can get a sisu diesel out of a 8270, or 8280 mf that is 513 ci and i know of one super farm sisu that was bored and stroked to 624 ci by riverside engines
