What's the best 3x4 charger for the money?

Re: 3x4 charger February 27, 2011 10:04AM
Holset HX60 or Borg Warner S400

What do you mean by 3x4? Exhaust and Intake diameters or base flange measurement??

Re: 3x4 charger February 27, 2011 02:20PM
Intake and exhaust

Re: 3x4 charger February 28, 2011 02:03AM
where is the best place to get either one of these and how much.

Re: 3x4 charger February 28, 2011 06:59AM
harts 3+4 makes the most power by far (25 more than closest competitor) but there are others out there making hx60s that last a little longer ( meaning no changing the wheel out every 8 runs at around $1300 a pop) another good one is a gt 45. more expensive but will hold up to the abuse a lot longer

anyone tried a cut down hc5 or a hx82

Re: 3x4 charger March 01, 2011 06:05AM
How big is the compressor on a HX82 and do know what the original application is .

Re: 3x4 charger March 01, 2011 08:15AM
I believe HX82's came on KTA 1150 cummins

Re: 3x4 charger March 01, 2011 08:25AM
Thanks I think you're right. Seems to be several variations of the big K-Block

Re: 3x4 charger March 02, 2011 12:09AM
will the clipped wheel hc5 out perform the best hx60

Re: 3x4 charger March 02, 2011 08:59AM
The center hub is huge in an H5. I don't see how one that is clipped to 3" could flow worth anything. Half of the 3" hole would be taken up by hub and shaft. Now a custom billet wheeled H5 with a little hub just might be the hot ticket to whooping some 7blade billet HX60 butt!

Some of those might have been slotted. Slots could make something like that really come to life.

how does a turbonetics compare to these two?
