OK... I need some help with the front skis. I"m trying to make a set for my tractor. I can't use the tube style cause of my chassis. I have seen pictures, I believe on from IH tractors where they use flat pieces of steel. Im trying to find those pictures. Can anyone help me here?

Why can't you use the tube style ? What kind of chassis are you using ? Have a pic ? we will try to help.

OK..... I don't have a tube chassis. I sides of my frame are flat peice of metal going from the rear axle to the front weight bracket. Its kinda like the square pin, round hole, just don't go together...lol. Unless there is a away to mount a skis that use a tube frame. Thanks

Bend your tubes then weld a piece of angle iron on the end and bolt that to your frame. Or use a piece of flat steel and weld to frame. Sorry not better help without seeing what you are actually trying to do.

after you bend your tubes find a piece of solid that will fit into it and weld it in then you can counter sink the hole and use an allen head bolt, it looks pretty clean when all finished

Thats the other idea I had also..... What size allen bolts? What grade?? How many?? Also how long of a piece of solid would I need?

Do you have any pullers close to you I know they would let you look to get a better idea maybe.

I used 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts and put 2 bolts in each tube so a total of 8 bolts. The solid piece was around 8 to 10 inches just depends on how tall your frame rails are

Remember, you're playing with metal, pretty much anything is possible. Do what "Red" said.
