Will an old style 6 wheel Gator, with some added weight in the box, pull an 8500 lb tractor around the pits? |

I had a 6x4 to tow my 9300lbs super farm out of the trailer and around the pits. Weight was not the issue it was the clutches and belt. Burned up one set of clutches and 3 belts in one season. Everything was new at the start of the season. Once you got the tractor moving it was fine. I would have to say no it won't work. I have traded mine for the 825i gator and it tows it like it is pulling a lawn mower.....good luck..... |

Id say yes but like he said the clutch and belt are gonna suffer. We pull ours around with a honda 450 |

maybe

Rolling resistance is a bigger issue than weight itself. Tractors with needled rears roll a lot easier than those without. |

Thanks for the shouts, Sullivan's was pulling one of their twds with a 6x4 at their pull SAT, also had a late model Gator 4x4, probably towing anything over 6000 on a reg basis would be expecting too much!! |

T.D.

A needled rear would have nothing to do with rolling resistance. All rearends have wheel bearings |

the biggest thing with rolling resistance is going to a disc brake set up. stock brakes cause more rolling resistance than you would think |
