BSTP at Dubuque July 17, 2011 09:12PM
I was at a pull Saturaday and was told that Badger State will not be at Dubuque as advertised. Was told that they were unable to produce proof of insurance. Was told the proof they provided was invalid. Is there any truth to this. I am not trying to start a Badger State, ECI, Heaterland fight just wondering if this was true.

AHH so you can read a profile, but you should have checked the spelling better. I also have a phone number to go along with that profile if you want to know who I really am. I don't have any problem being associated with the Steffen family or Heatland but I am not related or a member of either. I was just asking a simple question to which I had a question to. Were I figured there would be many individuals high enough up in the BSTP group that could answer it and end the story. But maybe not or worst maybe it is true???

And there isn't an easier way to contact the Badger State than on pulloff??? Someone was trying to stir up trouble if you ask me???

Re: BSTP at Dubuque July 22, 2011 09:40AM
Why are'nt they having a 9000 farm and 11,000 lb farm class this year? I know of alot of people not going there to pull because of that reason. They had those classes every other year.

Re: BSTP at Dubuque July 22, 2011 10:11AM
Probably because the crowd was bored.Any major organization don't have farm classes.Talk to Dubuque andhave them set up a farm pull on another day or night. When the fair hires a organization to come in they pick from certain classes.I know Badger State don't have farm classes.

Re: BSTP at Dubuque w/ 9500# 13000# & 15000# farm July 23, 2011 03:02AM
The fair board did request that they include a couple farm classes for the locals. If you would look into the show a little more rather than assume that they are just not having them it would result in a much needed positive feedback for the fair.

From my knowledge the classes will be :
9500# N/A, 3000RPM, no cuts.
13000# turbo, 3000RPM, No Cuts.
15000# turbo, 3000RPM, No cuts.

For definite information Contact (563)580-5631

Good luck to the Badger State Boys tonight in Richland Center and Tuesday Night in Dubuque

Dubuque fair sucks. Same entertainment every year. They don't want to spend the money for anything. You got to spend money to make money. Get some big entertainers and draw in the crowd. Small towns like Maquoketa and Monticello are way better and more a moneys worth to attend. Even the tractor pull is alot better in Maquoketa.

Brian, Thanks for the information on the Farm Stock classes, and good luck if you pull tuesday night.

As for the Dubuque County Fair, I have enjoyed attending the fair for over 50 years and I am very thankfull to all of the hard working fair officials, area businesses, and hundreds of citizens who donate their time and effort to put on a class event year after year. Sure some fairs have bigger entertainment, and bigger pulls, so what!

Bigger is not always better, if you want big go to the Iowa State Fair where you can stand line for everything.

Keep up the great work Dubuque County fair, and best wishes this year.
