EGT for alky September 29, 2011 11:46AM
What is a safe EGT for an alky? What is a max Safe EGT. What should a target be?

Most guys will tell you 1000-1100*F. You will need to learn to read your spark plugs and corolate the spark plug burn to the EGT reading. The EGT number alone means nothing. Is just the ground strap showing heat at 1000*F on the computer or is the heat two threads up on the spark plug at 1000*F? That is what you will need to find out.
