Everythings ready, to early to plant here in central Illinois yet, gonna start a week from Monday. We bought the insurance might as well wait until they will cover the crop. That is April 6th here in Central IL. |

April 6 is the date for Ins for us,whats the hurry. Say what you want but over the years really hasn't proven to be ready much sooner. To expensive to have to risk a replant |

I don't understand why your all putting the ones of us that are done down. The insurance is still good other than the $45.00 an acre replant. Got a little experience behind me (71 Years) and when the ground is ready plant it. Got a bid for $6.55 corn in August so why not try it????? Oh ya'll bring up the frost and tell when thats gonna happen so that your corn will be safe. Gotta go finish side dressing my first planted field, see ya later. |

I wasn't putting anyone down hope I didn't come off that way. It would be nice to be done. Nobody has started around here as far as I know, just seems a little early yet to me. |

We are going to start to plant on Friday. I am not meaning to put anyone down I just don't see the any reason to plant before it will be covered. Was talking to big wheel from Pioneer last week they were waiting to plant. He told me that in many trials the extra few days wasn't usually worth it. Most times when same numbers of corn were planted 12 to 15 days apart much of the time the corn tasseled within 2 to 4 days of the corn planted much earlier. Good luck to everyone and have a safe and trouble free planting season |
