4 5/8 pistons August 11, 2012 06:01AM
anybody know of some 4.625 pistons with a compression ratio in the ballpark of either 3 and 5/8" or 2 and 7/8" compression height? preferably 1.6" or bigger pin size. we already looked into custom and apparently its hard to even find blanks that size.

If you're thinking custom, call Ross. If you can draw it, they will make it, and for a lot less than it's worth putzing around trying to make something else work. They did a set for me for a BIG cube MM and they looked so nice when I got them, I almost hated to put them in the motor.

Case had a 4 5/8 bore with 1.8" wrist pin I believe. I may have a set.

Case also had a 4.625" bore with a 1.625" wristpin, 2290 & 2294 tractors.

what was the compression height of those? some of the case pistons i looked up were too short. do they have a dish or flat top?

They're dished, can't recall compression height, though.

Is the bowl off center in a 2290 4.625 piston? Like the 4.375 451 bdt piston? I would use them for a project if they were in the center. Thanks for any positive input.

actually a 1.6 or smaller pin would be preferable my mistake sorry.

If you have no luck finding pistons we make custom pistons.

Attached is a picture of piston before coating.

what would 4 pistons in that size cost and do you make big domes?

Re: 4 5/8 pistons August 13, 2012 06:32AM
From $250 to $300 ea. This depends on final configuration. I'm not sure what you mean by big dome, but we can do just about anything.
