Can a guy make hole in block bigger while in tractor to put a p7100 on a 40 series crank driven oil pump block?

Yes you can I had my block bored this spring. I know a JD4850 block is 3.750" and I bored my block to 4.200" Hope this helps Brandon

Took the bare block and had the mechine shop mechine bore it!

Just have the pump shop machine the front hub of the pump down to the same diminsions of an a pump. The o-ring that seals will no longer work just use silicone instead. This is what I did becouse my engine was together also. And the cost was $150.00. It works great.

u cant have a 7100 pump machined down to an A pump size. U can only machine it down to a 3000 p pump

My bad our pump is a p-3000 not a 7100. Is there a differance in the hub from a p-3000 to a 7100.

actually, no. A true P3000 uses the larger pilot diameter, and 30MM cam like a P7100. Standard old P pumps like on an 8640 ETC are not P3000's technically. People have started referring to all the standard P pumps as 3000 to differentiate them from the 7100, & 8500.
