mechanical 466 ih bus motor January 22, 2013 11:46PM
Will a mechanical injection bus motor from a 96 model 466 adapt to front and back engine plates of 400 series tractor? The injection pump appears to be a large p series inline and the valve cover is rather large looking, much different than a cover on a 1086.

Thanks, I just didnt want to buy something that wouldnt work.

They are not interchangable. That is an NGD series engine.

i put one in a 1566,you need to use the front and back engine plates and put your injection pump on,the pump on the buss does not have a govenor on it,it fit right it.

So is it a Detroit? Is that what ngd means. Is there any value and can you use any of it in a tractor?

the tractor front and rear covers will not bolt to that engine like they will the older 466 engine that is a new generation 466.
