Gear shifters for a 9000/9600 March 06, 2013 10:18PM
I'm wanting to move the shifters off the dash to build a cdifferent console cause of weight issues. Has anyone move the shifters off the dash? How did it work out? Thanks for any help.

have seen various ideas used! some have just extended the shifter arms from the tranny up through the floor. I put two shift levers on the left side between the seat and roll cage with a double cross shaft under the seat. does not have to be fancy as all you are doing is moving it from one gear to the next,it can be challenging to find the right gear as you are now going mostly by feel? I find third the most difficult to accurately locate?

Push pull cables move them any where

His name is Andy Keys. You can look at his Ford parts on the For Sale tab. look for "Ford Tractor Pulling Parts" on there.

He pulls a Ford Super Farm.

Thanks Justin Bennett

Yeah we just TODAY finished the shifting on our 7840 with 8000 trans using push pull cables. Shift leavers are under the dash beneth the steering wheel turned out awesome.

Thanks Justin I will post pics on Facebook tomorrow.
