Turbo placement

Does it mater how you mount the turbo? Does the exsaust flange need to be down? One side is oil in and the other is the drain. The pressure should push it threw, right. You should be able to mount it anyway you want to right. Thanks |

Oil drain must as close to bottom as possible (hole within 10 degrees of straight down). The drain side of turbo must free flow out and and have a clear path out to prevent oil leakage past sealing rings of turbo. |

most turbos allow you to rotate both the exhaust and intake ends to any position while allowing you to position center section like "builder" has suggested. |

Your turbo oil dischage is not as simple as some think. They need free flow down and discharge into the crankcase well above the oil level. As the oil enters your charger the spinning shaft and bearings whip that oil into a froth this is why the discharge tube is much larger than the pressure in. |
