Farmall Engine swap

Has anyone ever done a cummins swap in a Farmall M? Could this work? 3.9 or 5.9? Could the stock 5 speed transmission from the M hold up? Is there anyone out there that makes an adapter plate? I have seen some for the 06 series but nothing this small...Any help?? |

Give John Jones a call at Odon Machine in Odon Indiana. He has had a lot of experience adapting many different engines into various tractors. He's the one who put the first V-8 Olds diesel in a John Deere A. He also has but 5.7 and 6.2 GM diesels in M's, WD-45's and others. He also adapted an Allis Chalmers 301 diesel into a Minneapolis Moline U-302. These are just few examples of his work. Believe me, when he was done with them, they looked like they come from the factory. He also does high performance injection pumps, injector nozzles, turbo's and clutches for pulling applications. You can reach his shop at (812) 636-7781. I'm sure he can help you. |

Ed Leaman's adapters would bolt right on an M. Would the tranny hold up? Depends.... I know a guy who put a DT360/Allison auto ahead of an M rear end, but it is a fresh tractor so longevity is unknown. |

Sure that tractor with the 7.3 engine swap wasn't done by Odon Machine? Odon is only about 40 miles or so from Seymour. Just curious. |

You old time IH boys might remember the problems the 560's had in the rear end because of the added horsepower that the M didn't have. I wonder about longevity also but then again the tractor only weighs so much and I doubt you would be pulling a 5 bottom plow with it |
