John Deere 414 September 23, 2013 10:26PM
Just wondering if anyone has used the John Deere 414 motor? Any good or bad of it?

Thanks

It is a great engine in its size class. There are even p-pump versions. Being utility tractor motors you don't see a lot of them in pullers but they could easily be built into the 1000+hp range on re-worked stock parts.

Just wondering as they are a cross flow head. 5" stroke x 4.625" Bore is 504 Winking

Re: John Deere 414 September 24, 2013 04:56AM
Or is there no room to go that big?

I am pretty certain you could not get that much bore in it. I think 4.375 would be tight. You have to remember that engine started as a 329.

yes it really started as 303 cu in.

Thank you just curious on the Deere motors. What motor does the Kentucky sled hunter run for a motor?

Seen one today. Definitely no room in it to go bigger.

Full Throttle Deere? I believe it was a 6.7 (new style. 404) punched up to 504. Maybe pushed too hard or something, never did see it run up to expectations more than once.

I thought full throttle deere was a 7.6(466) based engine?
