Case 504 turbo recomendations February 06, 2014 01:05AM
Im building a 504 Case engine. It will be running 3000 rpm up to 600cc of fuel 5 hole .018 injectors Vogel cam and minor head work. Im decompressing the engine to around 14 to 1 also. What turbo are some of you running on a setup like this or what would you recommend? Thanks

I have two different chargers HE551 2.75x3.2 19 Cm exhaust housing and a 3x3.4 HX60 21 Cm Exhaust housing. But you can't go wrong with your standard 3x3 GT42 Garrett with the 1.01 exhaust either.

Would running gt 42 2.75 x 3 with a 101 housing hold up a full season been told needed bigger exhaust just curious.

I don't see any reason why it would not hold up. Make sure you run a billet intake wheel, not a must but they are a lot stronger than the cast wheels.

Also if you are worried about the 1.01 exhaust housing being to tight put a pressure gauge on your exhaust manifold and one on your charge pipe. You can monitor both pressures and change exhaust housings if needed. The standard gt42 exhaust wheel has a lot of different housings you can simply just swap to. 1.01 being the smallest Garrett ( unless custom made) up to and maybe one larger than the 1.28. If you need smaller I Believe precision makes a .96.

I think the 1.01 is right where you need to be, if you do need a larger housing they are always in the for sale section. Usually can pick them up for a reasonable price.

Ok I assume you want the two pressures as close to each other as possible? Thanks for the help.
