What does it take to get an ih 966 to 9000 lbs? 8000 lbs. farm stock tractor

Anything you don't need anymore comes off and what you still need to make it look like a tractor fiberglass and aluminium.

3 POINT, hydraulic pump, lower draft sensing tube, cast centers, It helps to use a light front axle, get rid of the cast pivot. The cast grill shell is very heavy too.

Mine weighs 9000 no weight with factory frame front end and cast nose still has hydraulic brakes . Removed PTO 3 point and hitch pump but still run MCV for steering and factory brakes u can make 8500 easy with disc brakes and a fiberglass nose I'm also running pressed steel and full cage

9000 is doable and still put it back together to farm. I doubt 8000 is. (at least not easy enough that you will do it twice!) My cousin pulled 9500 with his stock 966, cast 38's, fenders, wide front with wet bolster (for a NF), no 3-pt or PTO. If you ran a NF and pressed wheels, no fenders, I suspect 8500 is doable.
