Dirty intake

What is the cause of the intake getting so dirty? This is dirty from exhaust smoke/soot coming backwards through the motor. The intake is really bad, the crossover pipe is full, the intake wheel is black, it even has soot out to the intake horn. Any suggestions? |

I think it is just caused by overlapping valve timing caused by cam I think at higher rpm as when pulling your running clean and that what you see is not a problem. I may be wrong but that is my thought |

Leaky exhaust under the hood will cause turbo to draw in dirty air. Also if you almost kill it then just in time clutch it, they will run backwards. That really gunks up the entire intake system including the turbo air horn. |
