IH gearing March 01, 2015 07:17AM
Got a guy thats looking to do some gearing in his 1066. He wants to be running 12-14Mph in a "2.5" gear and 14-16mph in a "2.75" gear. He will be running 18.4x38 tires with stock rear end, with a TA at 3000 RPM. what gear teeth ratios should we be running to achieve these speeds?
Thanks for the info,
Mike
Thanks for the space

Here is allied's gear ratio chart, should give you an idea of what you're looking for. [www.allied-precision.com]

A 2.5 gear is the ratio 26/27 and a 2.8 is 33/40 or 2.7 is 34/39. There is no 2.75. the ratios given are in terms of- top gear/lower gear
