A pump help December 03, 2015 03:19AM
Could somebody explain to me witch A- pump I could put on an international. I herd you could use one off of a 1370 case and swap firing order,is this true? What about an a pump off of a 8.3L Cummins that's in construction equipment? Would it be the right rotation since it's on the same side as an international? What else do i need to lokk for in an a-pump ,Is there some kind of rack retarding to look for ,And how much fuel could you get out a stock A-pump maxed out and what size injectors would be good to run with this pump maxed out. Thanks for any help just try to find a budget pump to pull in 8 mph class

You won't gain anything with a stock 'A' pump over a stock rotary pump. Both will be around that 200-225hp if maxed out

I say the stock A pump you refer to must be wore out.

Dairy Blend is right stock A pumps are maxed out 200-225 HP ,you need to get an A pump that will feed your motor 350 -400 cc of fuel, I would suggest 5x16 or 5x20 for injectors then you can always go up.

what do i need to do to an a-pump to get 400 cc of fuel out of it, and would an a pump off of a 8.3L cummins turn the right diection to use on my motor? thanks

Re: A pump help December 04, 2015 09:45AM
the 5.9/8.3L cummins A pumps will bolt on an IH 400 series easy enough. The Case runs counter clock-wise, but the Cummins pumps run clock-wise, same as the IH.

Thanks Ed and injpumped that's the kind of information I was looking for? Is their anything I can do to the delivery valves myself to get a little more? Or any other trick to get a little more? The pump I got is a factory take off from a 8.3 Cummins with the RSV governors? What kind of fuel pressure should I feed it with

Re: A pump help December 04, 2015 02:09PM
I run 40 to 50 psi if you can find pump shop to cut delivery valves that will give you a little more fuel.Best money I spent was having quick delivery cam put in.I made well north of 400hp with cut delivery valves and fast cam in pump.
