Our Recipient this year is Scarlett Marek:

Scarlett Marek was born on June, 26th 2014. She is the daughter to Brittany Rose and Tim Marek of Milltown WI. Two days before she turned 2 months old Scarlett was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia. Biliary Atresia is a life-threatening condition in infants in which the bile ducts inside or outside of the liver do not have normal openings or not formed at all causing severe jaundice and damage of the liver. Biliary Atresia affects 1 in 18,000 babies; there is no known cause of this disease meaning there is no “cure.” There are two different ways to treat the disease one is the Kasai procedure, but if that fails then the child must receive a liver transplant. In Scarlett’s case the Kasai failed and she was transplanted on October 19th, 2014 just making her 7 days shy of 4 months old. Scarlett will always have to be on anti-rejection medication meaning she will always be immunocompromised; therefore a simple cold could wreak havoc on her body and cause her to get deathly sick or even go into liver rejection. She isn’t able to go into daycare right now her mom Brittany stays home with her full time. Scarlett and her family have spent a rough total of 7-8 months between the University Of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House in Minneapolis Minnesota. Scarlett gets blood work done every two weeks to monitor her liver enzymes and overall health and has regular checkups at the U of M and with our doctor close to home. Due to there not being a known cause yet to this disease of a definite fix all cure, the doctors told us that the hospital would always be our home away from home and it is the disease of the unknown. We learned to live in the now of each day and enjoy life no matter what. We always hope for sunshine, but prepare for rain.

Re: Clayton, WI Benefit Tractor & Truck, Sept 3 August 29, 2016 04:03PM
We have posted classes that are part of our plan for the day... but they are variable as well. We want to get as many hooks as possible, honestly, fairly, and for everyone to enjoy the day and have fun. There is no payback so it makes BRAGGING RIGHTS even more valuable. We add in classes and have taken away a few depending on number of hooks or requests by the pullers.
Just come and have fun... we plan to make it worth your time....

flowergirl, if you could for next year get someone to donate some trophies? I know of a lot of people that didn't attend because there was non. if not. I could donate money next year so you guys could buy some, it was a great pull this year just like every year. I will always be coming back, trophies or not. Thanks.
