IH 466 Question December 02, 2016 09:39AM
Hi guys, this winter I got a new setup for my tractor. IH 466,13mm pPump,5x22, S400 3x3 turbo, Vogel cam, head works, Simpson water etc...

I have 2 questions.
First, i need to bring the pump to the local diesel shop for a checkup, i wonder how many cc should be a good start point.

Second, how many degree* I need with this setup.

Thanks

I would say try starting around 650-700 cc and 36 degrees

Need some detail, open rpm? Stock s400? Who's fuel system?

Re: IH 466 Question December 04, 2016 01:34PM
Stock Cast compressor wheel, 4000rpm, 13mm p7100 no quick cam, 5x22 FVP

Re: IH 466 Question December 05, 2016 12:01AM
650 cc fuel
34 degrees
30 oz water

Safe starting point but your setup isn't very common, might end up way different then that after tuning.

Just curious, what is not common is my setup ? 466 3x3 is a common class?!? But thanks for the help it's appreciated

The s400 with a none 'quick cam pump'.
Not many people running s400's on tractors anymore because they make way less power then other 3x3's

Re: IH 466 Question December 05, 2016 03:24PM
In your opinion, a s400 with a good compressor wheel can make good power as the others 3x3 or it's a waste of money? I heard that FVP makes good stuff for BorgWarner turbo.

For the pump, soon I will consider changing it for a good used Harts or CDS.

Thanks man

s400 is sub standard to a gt style turbo every time in my experience
