Mini Sled Design August 18, 2016 07:13AM
We are looking at building a mini sled and was wondering on what the pullers prefer? Which one is your favorite? Have seen alot of good runs on the single axle sleds are they at an advantage as they will turn better than a tandem. Just curious on what everyone thoughts. Thanks.

If you are turning a mini sled, you already lost!
Single axle ok for garden tractors and pedal pulls.
The grown ups need tandem axles.

As a mini puller I hate dual axles on a sled. Sled becomes very hard to steer. Single axle sled will follow you as you go down the track and won't have the tendency to steer you. Mark Bingham's is the best example of this. This is one of the best sleds around right now. Plus you don't need the added weight of the second axle.
