BFG Tire Pressure
|
Was just curious what tire pressure people run in 20.8x38 BFG Powersavers for farm pulling. I understand different tracks will call for different pressures. Was wondering more on a general range. Thanks! |

11,500-13,500 guessing 15% tread |

12psi would be a good place to start. |

double that and you might win,low pressure is only good for a great thunderstorm. |

Ok so in your options on an IH to hot to farm going down the track in the mid twenties mph at 11,000-13,000lbs what would you all suggest on air psi on a non cut tire? I have seen some bounce really bad......I have heard it called "binder bounce". I would think the lower the psi the more it would bounce because it would have a rubber band effect going that fast, it probably wouldn't matter too much under say 16mph but what about when it's in the mid to upper 20's? When the tire is at a low psi wouldn't the tire be more capable of loading and unloading and that's what causes the bounce? |

And this is exactly why I asked. I have heard ranges from 11-13 and some people say 18-20. |

watch the winners, hard tire,-- hard track, you loose a lot of hitch height when running low air and the front edge does the hooking, only sometimes I have found that lower pressure is good. |

cant bounce a flat basketball farm a bfg should be around 16 harder you spin it you can go down fire stone will work with lower pressure |

But when you put a downward force and a rotation away from that with a flat tire what happens then? I would think too much flex would make you bounce more. |

There is a couple psi window where all tires will bounce, you can play above or below,
Just have to find which works for you and tracks you pull on. It can be a lengthy learning Process. |

Bouncing has a lot to do with gearing--not enough, dribble away. JW |

I agree,many factors enter into bounce,pressure is only a small part,too much gear,slippage of clutch,wheels and more. |
