Can someone please tell me the differences between a ih 466 and a ih 468 ?

466 small bore flat tappet lifters , oil hole for rockers arms drilled thought block
To # 6 rocker bolt.
468 big bore roller lifters, oil goes through worm cut in head gasket.

Not all 468 are roller engine
Just the late1988 532,981 and after should be roller
Then in the 90s they changed the block where the bridges ride of the roller lifter cause the were breaking the tops off the lifters the block was just castes different there
Roller lifter will fit in all 468 blocks and they make aftermarket small bore lifter now too that are pretty sweet. Hope this helps!

Not all 468 blocks go through head gasket. I have a few that aren't and are big lifter bores.
