Do you guys think it would be easier to turn a faster ring and pinion or faster overdrive gears have 3. 70 to 1 ring and pinion now and . 89 overdrive gear. |

The ideal scenario would be direct drive from the crankshaft to the ring and pinion. Every time you go thru a set (2 gears) of gears some HP is lost. |

for the same physics reasons your RV - toter,or pickup with trailers shifts down going uphill |

Any time you go though a set of gears(over or under) there is a HP loss. |
