Priming an oil pump

What's a good way to prime an oil pump on an allis 426? It's a stock crank driven pump that's been modified to fit a girdled block. |

Crank it with starter until you see oil pressure then start it. All I ever do |

You could use a sprayer pump or some type of external pump and pump oil into the oil pressure senor or gauge fitting on the side of the block or your Oil filter housing. And pre prime the engine then either drain some off afterwards if it's to full or if you havent put oil in yet just leave it a gallon low and put in a gallon with the pump then you won't be turning your engine over with it dry? Just a suggestion...... |
