International 86 series wet brake to dry brake conversion February 07, 2019 04:05AM
I am in the process of building an International 886 hot farm puller. I want to switch from the 'wet' brakes on the 86 series to a traditional disc brake with Willwood caliper. I understand that the 86 series are a wet brake system with no seal around the brake shaft whereas a 66 series is a dry system that uses a seal. What do I have to do to convert from wet to dry so I can use the aftermarket brakes? Is it just a matter of inserting a 66 series seal, or is there machine work to do or parts to replace? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If parts are needed, does anyone have spares and if so are you going to Louisville next week?
