can anyone plese tell me the correct gear ratios in a john deere 4430 quad range transmission for the following gears. ratios for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th. thank you in advance

A Quad Range is 23.3-1 in D4. A Syncro is 21.9-1 in 8th. That is the only one I know.

this helps some, but i still need to know the other gear ratios.. kta is pretty sharp on these, is there any possibility he could answer my question?

4430 quad gears are as follows
D4 (8) IS 23.2
C4 (7) IS 35.6
D2 (6) IS 38.4
B4 (5) IS 42.1

How does the quad shift change these ratios?

Number of teeth on counter shaft gear. Quad is 34 teeth and syncro is36 teeth.

Thank you for the quick replie but what I was refering to is the two speed shift its self I have a 4440 gear set in my quad on a 4430 transmission that I use to run so in stead of being under and direct I was direct and overdrive, So My question is what is my overall ratio in D4 with the quad shifted in high range? I like to call D5. I recently bought a urmson transmission out of a super farm so I am trying to figure out what gears in the new to me trans I might be able to run.

gear ratio for a 2018 835 jd gator

Re: john deere gear ratios May 27, 2014 07:49AM
The factory 'overdrive' 2 speed is direct in low and 27% over in high. So if you are trying to match the Urmson ratio to your current "D5" it would be 0.7875 x your current ratio.

I hope this makes sense...

If your running D4 and what your calling D5 in a quad you would have a 23.2 and a 18.2 ratio.

If you know your tooth counts you can setup a spread sheet and see how all your ratios fall with different head set gears if you have any extras with it.
