What is a good place to start with pump timing on a case 451, 13mm a pump 4x24 pencil injectors 3000rpm farm class. Thanks for any advice in advance.

Start around 36-38 degrees see what happens

Depends on how quick your pump is. At 3000 I would personally start around 32 degrees

Would a 504 from a 2594 in a 1070 be in the same timing area, 32, for a 3000/3200 rpm class with a 5x20 dual feed injectors and 10 mm pump?

No water injection, limited to a box 3LM466 turbo.

Likely 35 is a good place to start. Google up “case 504 timing pulloff” click the first one should take you to a thread on here about an 1175 with a 504 and a 3lm, he ended up around 35 or 36 I believe. I wouldn’t worry about the whole timing light part of it though.

stock timing on a 451 is 31. used to run ours at 35 to 36. heads will be a problem as they were built for naturally aspirated engine . that 13 mil pump should have a quick delivery cam allowing for a little more timing.

Not saying you’re wrong but I have a service manual for a 401 and a 504 in front of me and both are 25 degrees. Can’t see the 451 being 31.

your are correct about timing in general. some 504 with pencil injectors are timed at 27. the rest with bosch injectors are timed at 25. the 1070 451 naturally aspirated is timed at 25. the 1170 turbocharged 451 is timed at 31. I have 2 in my shed and it is right on the valve cover tag what the timing is . every application will have that sticker depending on what the motor was put in. been working on them for 35 years.
