Loose wieght on 6030 January 20, 2020 10:24AM
Looking for some ideas on ways to loose wieght on a 6030. Other than the obvious. Thanks

Any 6030 9300 super farm puller can tell you of the issues to get weight out of a 5020/6030---first 2000 lbs is easy---not so much after that!!! Bill Williams 5010 3 turbo super stock weighed 7700 to 7800 on alum rims and 30.5's BFGs. When viewed up close, it was exceptionally simple in build, and its profile was more like a 2940 on steroids, that a bbjd. Drussel (spell?) did the alum weight reduction work on both of Bills tractors, the 4010 and 5010.

Engler-ize it.

Artwooden is right but since Bill Williams is no longer with us and Doug Drussel last I knew was living up in the Colo. mountains. Unless you have a large lathe and milling machine a mig and tig welder and are proficient in the use of them, your limited to total component or go to Engler for help. I don't think many pictures of Williams tractors exist to give you ideas and a lot of the weight loss was internal. I know at one time when they were getting close it was down to removing every other bolt and weighing them. To say the inside of the clutch housing and transmission looked like swiss cheese would be an understatement.

It was different---front wheels were tiny 5 lug units, and the front axle was back towards the front of the block---but was clean!!
