Single engine modified transmission

I'm Going to be swapping a Allison engine over to a new chassis next winter and was wondering if I need a Transmission for it or if I could get by with a Reverser. If I need a transmission I'll go with a SCS. What model of transmission would be best for my application? Also where can I find stainless steel headers for this thing? It has Aluminized pipe on it now. |

I'll respond and bump this up to the top of the page even though I have no clue on either question. I do have a question regarding your transmission vs. reverser, how consistent are your tracks? Are you on clay one week and loamy sand the next? Even though I'm no expert, I'd say that's the biggest factor for you to figure out. Hopefully somebody will see this and help you out. PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal. |

It's a Sketchy 4 speed auxiliary truck transmission in it now. I would say most of the tracks are pretty consistently clay. The tractor Just showed up here a week ago so this is going to be our first go around tractor pulling. |

Keep in mind that some "sketchy looking" transmissions are actually very strong custom built pulling units. Mike Holden built a very strong trans that was not a thing of beauty but it would hold the HP and torque. I had one and ran it for years. If it looks like a piece of 6" pipe split in half with some flat steel plate to widen it it might be better than you would think. The only down fall is that they are heavy but in your case I'm not sure that would matter.
