Head gasket making July 15, 2020 03:15PM
Has anyone used plasma table to cut copper gaskets? If so what speed and amps say for .065 thick. Would it be close to aluminum settings. Thanks

To me a plasma cutter would put so much heat around the cut edges . Copper is a great heat conductor.

I would definately want material left on for finish machining.

Cuts very similar to aluminum parameters but nicer. If you are an experienced burn table operator give it a go. You will be pleasantly surprised.

when finished take your torch heat the gasket until it turns a little red to make it soft
