It all depends on the condition of the track that you are pulling on. John Murray Two-time Pedal Pull World Champion Let's Go Pulling, covering the sport of pulling in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama. Watch LGP on YouTube Like LGP on Facebook |

On the average a 30.5 does the best but as John said it depends on the track 10 ply pullers are the most wanted but are hard to come by and the new tires out are really starting to come on strong |

If you'd like, give me a call at 402-840-0244. We have seen success in this class on both sizes of our tires, and I may be able to help point you in the right direction. Seems like different parts of the country go with something a little different.

This may be dumb question but why don’t they allow 20.8s in LLSS and wouldn’t a narrower tire give you more lbs per inch on the tire itself to lock it in to the track surface? |

No a 20.8 would not. |

I’m only curious because last year I saw a 6500lb open class in which several LLSS guys were competing in get spanked by a guy with 18.4s. |

18.4 is smaller footprint. 20.8 is not |

If the 18.4’s worked good the 20’s would have too. As stated above, track conditions and different soil types have a large affect on which tire size will be best. Wheel speed is also a big factor along with the cut. Lots more to it than just the size |

I Guess the 20.8 have to big of a circumference just as a 42 to be legal |
