Any infor on M&W tractor pulls? December 24, 2020 06:53AM
Is there any record of the tractor pullers/winners of the M&W Farm Power Show tractors pulls which M&W call the World Championship. Growing up, I went to several of the pulls from 1962 through 1974. Pulling Reference.com is excellent but does not include the M&W pulls. I remember the pulls as a 20 tractor invitational. I do not remember the classes. I remember at the last pull I attended (I think 1974), the IH 1066s and 1466s were at a new higher level which I heard was due to Hypermax. Thanks for any infor.

This will be just coming from my memory which is what it will be worth ,I think the first few were hei
ld around Gison City , Illinois, then they branched out like the farm Progress Show. You are correct the were a 20 tractor invitational Iwas in 6 of them over the years, placing @nd in Kirksville Mo. I pulled 396 feet but Tom DeClerk pulled 402 ft. that year. I went to one in Ottumwa Ia. one in Gibson city Il. one in Sullivan In. one in Wshington In.And one around Bloominton,Il.I do not know how long they lasted 9we quite pulling for a few years to increase our farming operation but I do remember a guy named George Coffey from Hindboro Il. Winning all 3 classes the year before I pulled with Super M farmal with a 6cyl. truck engine. The classes were 5500 7500 9500 that year. I think the finally became 6000 9000 12000.at the ones I attended. I have no idea why the were World Chamionship because BG was going then also. I apoigise for bad typingand bad memery but that was 55 years ago and a lot has changed

I was at the 1969 M&W Pull at LaPlata,MO and have the complete results in a note book..I took quite a few pictures at this pull.I think the 1970 results from Illinois are in a NTPA Puller..

2nd Randy Ballee Farmington,Ill. 4020 JD with 318 Detroit 405'8" (17 years old pulling for his Dad whom was killed in a wreck?)
