RPM Act part 2 March 17, 2021 04:47AM
Here's the nickel tour of my current crusade, the RPM Act, courtesy of David Freiburger. He explains it clearly!

If you pull any form of truck that has stock frames and other stock components you ARE affected by this deal. The potential is that ANY state level class could be deemed illegal...every variant of a TWD or FWD in Super Stock and Pro Stock form, also includes every form of diesel truck that pulls at a state level. Contact your Congressional Representatives!

"All racing of stock-bodied cars with modified engines could become federally outlawed. Here’s the background of all the RPM Act posts you’ve been seeing. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has reinterpreted the Clean Air Act in a way that means that they have control over racing vehicles that are never used on public roads. The EPA therefore believes it is illegal to build any race car from any vehicle that was originally a production car IF that means that any part of the emissons system has been disabled or modified. If the EPA wins, it means the end of amateur drag racing, circle track racing, road racing, off-road racing, and even drifting. This includes cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Even if you don’t race, consider how this could devastate the performance aftermarket industry. @semashow has been fighting this since 2015 and has delayed a ruling, but the problem is back. SEMA is supporting the RPM Act: Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports. You can help by contacting your Congressperson to support this bill. The link contains the easiest way ever to send an digital message to the right person. Do it now. It’s Sema.org/rpm "

Thanks Bryan, this could become a huge problem for all types of American's if this passes. As the government continues to wander into our personal lives one has to wonder when we will push back and not comply. The other option will simply be for us to find ways around these terrible laws, like using pre-emission frames and parts. The other question will be enforcement; are they going to check VIN numbers? If so, they are off-road vehicles and without a VIN they won't be able to prove that any emissions were disabled so just remove the VIN. I seriously hope this law doesn't pass, but if it does I think it will be fun/hilarious to watch the hundreds of different way people get around the law.

As Bryan said, contact your Congressional Representatives!

This page is a free service. The cost is covered out of my pocket. It takes a great deal of time and a fair amount of money to keep this website going. Donations for: photos, classified ads, forum discussion, etc... are appreciated.

Side Note: We are no longer accepting PayPal donations. They have changed their terms of service and stated they would fine PayPal users for spreading "misinformation" and "hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory". PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. Woke corporate policies regarding "misinformation" could result in an automatic fine of $2,500 which would have been removed directly from the customer’s PayPal account. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal.
