65-6700 lb class I guess it's in need of a injection pump. And I can't seem to find one even from the dealer. Wondering what other pump I can put on without much hassel it has a flat exhaust manifold so a Turbo shouldn't be an issue. Never seen anyone do anything to one in my area. Is it worth the time to try. |

Update! I got the 885 ve pump got the old girl.running got a few cobwebs to work out but am happy its running again. Found a ta3101 Turbo off a Allis went to hook it up found out oil seal is gone. Where is a good place to get a kit for this garrett 9turbo? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/09/2012 02:48PM by crc454. |

I wish I could remember where I have seen one, perhaps the for sale pages here, or YT, but I know I remember seeing an 84 series with a turbo set up for pulling. Looked pretty cool, but I have no idea what the rear is capable of, or what was done to the engine to make power. |

Sounds like a fun one for sure I just got a line on a pump from a 885 hoping to get it so that I can get my 784 running and go from there. my tractor has a 4 bolt flange on the exhaust manifold allready do you think that Turbo would bolt to it or would I still.have to make a plate?... |

That sounds interesting hx35 turbos aren't that pricey good to know. Still trying to get that pump couldnt get whole of the Guy today. Probably would have to do more to get 200hp out of a d246. |

How much of a hassel would it be to do that. Is there a kit to do that? Was thinking about an inline Bosch that would light it up a bit. |

A friend of mine tried this last year with a 684. A fresh 784 motor was used and a turbo was added. He also added a brand new set of Firestone 23 degree radials. Unless your going to put in a crank with a MUCH longer stroke and run some outrageous R's...not worth the time. In the one class it pulled it was outpulled by several (strong) Farmall M's and JD 3020's. |

Thanks that's what I wanted to know. I know a crank from a 268 is better but its going to need more I believe. Sounds like this would be a good chore tractor for someone and we will get something with a little more kick. Unless someone has a few ideas on parts I can find to get this party started. |

My IH 544 diesel has a D239 engine. It's been sitting in the barn for a couple of years. It had something go through the bottom of the crankcase. I have been looking for a long block so I could get it repaired. Any idea of where I can find a block? |

I put a VE pump from a 5.9 cummins and it works great. Had to change the pump flange bolt pattern on the engine and make the pump hub taper bigger but other than that it was pretty easy. We will be putting Turbocharged 239 in my sons Scout and that willl have a pump off a 4BT Cummins. |
