2021 NTPA single charger class Rule Proposals (per NTPA website) August 31, 2021 01:59AM
NTPA rule proposals

NTPA rule proposals for the single-charger classes. Link above, pasted below.

Limited Pro Stock (Divisional committee member)

I have had a few limited pro competitors that would like to see billit heads added for next
year. Note: Specs should be the same as the recast

Super Farm (Divisional committee member)

1. Recommendation - An adjustment to the Water injection testing tolerance. From the
current acceptable amount of “3.0” to a “5.0” To allow for more lubricity, which would
extend water injection pressure pump and valve life, and lower overall costs to operate
and maintain operation of Super Farm tractor.

Reason: Under the current regulation, multiple members have had to repair and replace
said pusher pumps repeatedly due to the lack of lubrication, that can be mixed in and
stay under the current regulation. Some are in the process of researching an
engineering changes to their current injection system, so they may attempt to eliminate
failures in their system which ultimately effects engine durability and longevity. In a year
where sourcing and receiving the parts has become scarce at best, it seems this
situation can be avoided. 1 example of the current offerings of lubrication to mix into the
injection water to maintain legality has cost as much as $107 for (1 gallon) 128 ounces
of fluid. A standard bottle of Napa cutting oil, from the store is a cheaper, but at a ratio
that adds enough lubricant and not extra dissolved contents, does not pass the current
rules acceptable level.

2. Recommendation - Elimination of BioFuel from the Grand National and Regional
divisions, while continuing to allow its use at the State level organizations. Adopting use
of a Dielectric Test system at a level of 150.

Reason: Testing of the other fuels available is more consistent, namely using a
calibrated electronic device, which could then be available to Pre-test fuels prior to an
event with minimal effort and man power. Reduces the need for a Certified trained fuel
testing technician. The cost savings would be there as well, because some of the
available BioDiesel fuels can cost as much as $78 a gallon. The cheapest available to
most competitors is $7 a gallon. BioDiesel characteristics can change the test results
based on many factors, some of which start at the lack of oversight from the base
provider and continue with: storage duration, temperature of fluid, temperature of air,
humidity on exposed testing equipment and the fuel itself, vessel in which fluid was
tested in, calibration of testing equipment, etc. A Dielectric test rate of 150 would align
with organizations across the country, even if paired with Specific Gravity testing.

3. Recommendation - NTPA provide fuel supplier. Solicit companies to be the sole
provider of fuel to the class or organization.

Reason: Eliminates most of the issues currently occurring with the varied fuel testing
problems, costs, complaints or issues. Reduces the amateur and professional chemists
making “performance” fuels.

Recommendation- Re-align the points Regions to co-inside with input from each
Regions board or pulling leadership.

Reason - Current Enderle invite system in place could possibly have the 3rd or 4th
placing points tractors representing the sub-region at the All-Star event.

SUPER FARM (Divisional committee member)

1. Propose to prohibit B100 Bio Diesel fuel as a legal fuel for Regional and Grand
National levels of competition. Propose that Member State organizations be allowed
option to use B10 as a legal fuel only for their member state level of competition.

2. Propose to change dielectric meter test for diesel fuel upper limit to 150 up from
current 100.

3. Propose to increase current water injection refractometer test upper limit to 6.0 from
the current 3.0 to allow for increased concentration of soluable oil for increase lubricity
for pumps.

HOT FARMS
Purpose a rule changed to fuel test to 150 to allow VP fuel.

General
Make the “classic SS” class a regular RN class.

Allow states to run B100 in their own state circuit, but, disallow Bio Diesel at RN and GN
events. Reason: other sanctioning bodies don’t allow Bio diesel.

Light Pro Stock (Divisional committee member)

-Strike diesel fuel rule L. 1. e. 1 & 2 and replace with the following:
- Diesel fuel standards for dielectric constant test are greater than 30 and less than 150

LT. PRO STOCK DIVISION (Divisional committee member)
1. Calibrate scales at every event by using certified weights from the sled that have
been weighed by a certified scale and stamped with the weight on the block.

2. No rule changes for five years for Lt. Pro

3. Eliminate water and fuel testing: too inconsistent

4. Use scales that come with sled. Weighing will be more consistent and less time
consuming.

Unted Pullers of Minnesota
1. Pro Farm Class /Change in Rules:
Turbo rule- section XI paragraph #5 to read the class will use 3x3 smooth bore
housing turbo only. No slug can be used after the 2021 season. The compressor wheel
must protrude into the inch opening at least 1/8 inch, intake housing to be no larger than
3 inches at the face of the wheel.
A. Engines paragraph #5 to be removed and new rules added.
Paragraph D page 59... We would like the weight to be 9500lbs not 10000lbs
9500lbs will be the permanent weight after the 2021 season.
