Turbocharger September 05, 2021 07:35AM
In a 3000rpm class how would an off the shelf precision 72/75 gen 2 ball bearing gen 2 turbo compare to something a little more tricked out? Is it worth paying another $1500+ for something custom? Both would be bushed down to 2.625” on the inlet. Would a charger with the surge slot opened right up perform a lot better? Don’t have much knowledge on what is done to some of these custom modified turbos, if anyone has any info they’d like to school me with that would be great. Heard about clipped wheels and seen some surge slots that go right through to the wheel, is this for every last hp or are there big gains?
